Exam time extension
We assume that everyone who takes an entrance exam in English masters enough English to be able to study at an university and to take this entrance exam. That is why we never give extra time because of an insufficient knowledge of the English language. We make no exceptions to this. However everybody is allowed to use a dictionary.But to certain groups, the CCVX may grant an extension of the length of the preliminary examination.
a. Candidates with dyslexia
A candidate with dyslexia may be granted permission by the CCVX to extend the length of the preliminary examination session for the subject in question by up to 30 minutes. A request must be accompanied by an expert statement prepared by an expert psychologist or remedial educationalist stating the dyslexia and the need to grant the request.b. Other groups
The CCVX may also grant other groups permission for an extension of the length of the session of the preliminary examination for the relevant course by up to 30 minutes. These include candidates with ADD, ADHD, a disorder on the autism spectrum or a physical disability. A request must be accompanied by an expert statement drawn up by an expert psychologist, remedial educationalist or doctor demonstrating the limitation and necessity for granting the request.A request to extend the length of the preliminary examination must be submitted to the CCVX secretary (info@ccvx.nl) no later than 10 days before the preliminary examination session.
Unfortunately, more and more first-time candidates are waiting until right before the exams to request extra time. This causes us a lot of extra work. Therefore, we have to be very strict.
Applications submitted too late can no longer be processed. That means won't get extra time. And it also means that we can not answer your e-mail (or your parents'!) for extra time.
A request must be accompanied by the relevant supporting documents / statement of expertise showing that the candidate qualifies for extra time. Supporting documents sent via email should consist of a legible scan (not a photo through a mobile phone) and attached to the email as a separate attachment. Links to external urls such as "the cloud," for example, we cannot open due to the danger of viruses and malware.

An expert statement must be drawn up by an expert. We do not accept statements from another institution (e.g. a school) instead that declare to grant extra time on the basis of an expert statement. We always need to see the original expert statement for ourselves.
CCVX will give a decision within one week of receiving the request.
If we grant you extra time, you will also automatically receive extra time for all other entrance exams through the summer in that academic year.
